Finally, I have been paid by one of my clients (to be fair, he was only invoiced a few weeks ago), now all I have to do is get the other 6 cheques I'm owed for a grand total exceeding 10 grand.
The joke is - I'm still broke!

How will we know the ancients in the future?
In the future, we will be able to eat bacon, buttered toast and fried rice without guilt.
As long as we exhibit sufficient conformance we can be drip-fed hapiness.
The biggest joke that they sell us is that happiness comes from others.
Laugh at yourself - you are fuckin' hilarious - you just don't know it yet.
In the future you will speak a different language - you will use the same words, but the meanings will have consequences. Grab a sword and fight for your skin - or not. Whatever.
You are not your past, your future or even your present - you are only now.
Teach me.

This is no universe for the mediocre

Good, everyday, people will be crushed between North American and Middle East Conservatism.
Regardless, women will always choose the bad asses, but reserve the right to bitch about orgasms bought with unhappiness born of indecision.
Condoms will soon be sold by deBeers - a common, everyday vice enabler, because basically, she'll have to.
The more technology takes over, the more we become cockroaches, lying on our backs, waving our legs in the air.
No matter how many cameras, counter-culture, rules, demonstrations - the grass roots will always be subsumed by the narrow, crass, base, mongoloid, conservative viewpoint - there is no escape. Someday they will develop a liberal propulsion system based on the negation of conservative frameworks - easy to construct but full of potential energy.
Every employed person is a thief - a thief of the job of a lesser person - isn't conservativism funny?

Makin Bacon
Holy leg of the lamb of Jaysus! Dave Selden (Beer brewer and bon-viveur) recently received a book on the fine art of Charcuterie - that is, the art of preparing cured meat.
He decided to make some bacon and on the left you can see the result.
Oh. my. god.
Me want same book and half a pig - please!

Global Peace Index Rankings
Here is a list of countries sorted by their 'peace index'.
The peace index is calculated from a large number of factors from distrust of other citizens, through UN deployment, electoral openess, corruption levels, distrust of other nations etc. and ranges from 1 to 5 with 1 being the best.
I'm happy to say that Ireland is number 4 on the list with an index of 1.396, not far behind Norway (1.357), New Zealand (1.363) and Denmark (1.377).
As a comparison the U.K. is 49th with a score of 1.898, the United States is 96th (out of 121) with a score of 2.317. The U.S. is just one step above Iran, which scores 2.321.
Sadly, Iraq languishes last on the list with a score of 3.437
