Fixed?

Hopefully that fix will last long enough to allow me enjoy Christmas and maybe even New Years Eve!

Spammers deserve to have their legs ground into mince meat , made into bad burgers and then force fed to them.

They are destroying the fabric of the internet, undermining the whole reason the internet exists - to communicate.

Its like trying to talk to someone across a quiet room, except there is some fucker in the corner with a loud hailer, and another wandering the room with flashing lights and billboards, placing them between you and your friend having your nice little conversation.

Its either spam or its us - war, on.

Comments on again

The fucking spammers have managed to hack my system so that they can switch comments on again on my posts, meaning they can start spamming my blog again.

Fucking bastards.

Comments off...

To stem the tides of spam that were gradually eating through the wonderful defense that is 'MT blacklist' I had to switch off comments for all the blogs.

Bit more involved than clicking a checkbox though - All the entries you see were deleted first and then re-imported. Virgin's every one - have fun!

Coming attractions...

Be it here known that Vice-Chancellor David Grogan (formerly vice-chancellor of the recently aborted attempt at 'plantations' in the Sargasso sea where many were lost to culinary boredom derived from over-ingestion of 'the highly nutritious' seaweed and barnacle found in those latitudes aformentioned) and Professor Mark Lennox seek twelve good mean and strong to accompany them on an expedition of discovery into the dark wilderness of the Tallaght Luas line.

The expedition seeks to investigate the social, moral and physignomic range expressed by the fauna of the accursed region. To wit the pair shall journey (braced by suitable alcholic drinks) to take note of all manifestations that present to them. Noting them, photographing them and where appropriate stuffing (them out the door as quickly as possible....)

The results of these investigations will merit interest from a social and scientific standpoint. The pair, stout in character if not in body, ask that you congregate at your nearest 'browser' at a time yet to be determined but no later than December 20th of the year of the calendar of pope Julius (friend and benefactor to Michaelangelo and clric militant supreme) 2004 where they will present in an orgy of multimedia in a fine spectacle all that befell them on their hazardous journey from the Boars Head pub to the Square Tallaght and back again - all in the space of a day!

Classic spam...

WHoever targets blogs with spam seems to use the same writers that target email. These always take the same basic format, some text with which they hope to beat spam filters (and some humans...) and then an a propos URL at the end, usually sent by XGHtyugJHG@gjhgIGi.com.co.uk.tw

I just had to share this particular bit of blog spam with you.

This royal throne of kings, this sceptred isle, This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars, This other Eden, demi-paradise, This fortress built by Nature for herself Against infection and the hand of war, This happy breed of men, this little world, This precious stone set in the silver sea, Which serves it in the office of a wall Or as a moat defensive to a house, Against the envy of less happier lands,-- This blessed plot, this earth, this realm, this England. martha

Yes that is a link for cheap shoes tagged onto what looks like a King Henry (the which'th???) speech from Shakespeare. Classic. I can imagine reworkings of the great works now

Friends! Romans Country men! Lend me your loafers!
My kingdom for an affordable, comfortable, hard-wearing pair of slip-ons!
Et tu boot-us?

Classics undoubtedly bu they don't have quite the ring of the original....
